The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is a state school education board in Madhya Pradesh (One of the state in India).
It is a government board of secondary education which looks through the policy-related, administrative, cognitive and intellectual direction of the state’s higher educational system. The MP Board is also responsible for regulating and supervising the system of intermediate education within state. Apart from this the MPBSE focuses on various activities including courses of study, prescribing syllabus, conducting examinations and granting affiliation to colleges.

Formation of MPBSE
Under the Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Act, this board was established in 1965. The headquarter of MPBSE is in Bhopal, MP (India). The official language constitutes of English, Hindi and Urdu. The official website of MPBSE is www.mpbse.nic.in.
- To provide affiliation to schools.
- To suggest courses and textbooks at High schools and Intermediate level.
- To conduct exams.
- Try to provide equivalence to the examinations conducted by the Board.
The MPBSE suggests syllabus for the students studying in IXth standard to XIIth standard for all the schools affiliated with this Board and exams whose scores are necessary in order to get admission to higher studying institutes.
There are other languages which can be chosen as a primary language as per the convenience of the students in addition with English and Hindi which becomes mandatory. Other languages that can be used are Sanskrit, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Sindhi, Malayalam, Persian, Arabic, French, Russian, Kannada or Oriya.
Exams to be covered by MPBSE
Three Board exams are conducted and supervised by the MPBSE. These includes the Middle School Exam for Standard VIII, High School Certificate Examination for Class Xth and the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam (HSC) which is conducted for class XIIth which is considered to be School leaving Examination for the students.
