Q1: What is Airframe structural design?

A1: As a branch of structural mechanics, the field of aerospace structures includes topics such as instability, stress, failure, deformation. These are influenced by the physical and engineering properties of materials. These are also influenced by the geometric attributes and boundary conditions of the structural system. It is a knowledge of structural design methods and an understanding of the load paths are essential to advancement in nearly all phases of airframe engineering.
