Q1: What is the eligibility criteria for doing automobile engineering?
A1: The automobile engineering degree is a four-year engineering degree (BE or B.Tech) course. The students need to have minimum eligibility of passing their 10+2 board or any equivalent exams from a recognised board with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects. The students should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent marks in their board exams to be eligible for admissions in good universities. The students of diploma in the mechanical and related stream of electrical or electronics can also take admission through lateral entry entrance examinations in the second year of the engineering program after their completion of Diploma. Students of Bachelor degree in Science are also eligible for lateral entry in the automobile engineering programmes.

A2: There are a host of job opportunities for an automobile engineer in production plants, service stations of automobile companies, motor vehicle departments of control, automobile manufacturing industries, insurance company experts, transport companies, and state transport corporations, etc. The students are taught CAD (Computer-Aided Design), CAM, ERP and therefore one can easily join designing companies as designers of automobile.
